some questions about 84-87 crx and 86-89 integra
alright.. i drive a 95 civic with a tokico ilk suspension kit, front and rear sway bars, full poly master kit installed, rear disc conversion and 16" dunlop sp sport 9000 tires.. this thing handles beautifully..
after riding in my friends 85 civic si i am amazed at how well the car handles with stock parts and a few new poly bushings..
i just bought a beat up 88 teg for $100.. my "winter car" and now im trying to find some suspension parts for it.. i want to lower it, but still keep a decent driveability.. im having some trouble finding a lowering torsion bar for the front end.. im not exactly sure how it all works but as far as i can tell its just a bolt through the torsion bar and the floor board that determines the height of the front end? if this was the case why couldnt i put a slightly longer bolt in and lower it that way? as far as the rear its close to being the same as my civic.. so just lowering springs will work.. but what about sway bars front and rear? will a rear sway bar do any justice, or just a worthless bolt on..
alright.. and another question.. my friend and i are finally finishing his 84 crx, which has a stock d16a1, intake, header, exhaust, and a 60 shot of nitrous.. last year with slicks it ran a 13.2 in the quarter.. (completely stripped and some saturn wagon springs in the rear to completely eliminate weight transfer) we want to make it streetable and able to handle well.. but were running into the same problem.. the torsion bar..
i know these cars can handle.. they were used as scca race cars forever.. i just cant find much info on them.. any help will be awesome..
