Default things needed to go from d16y7 to jdm d15b. HELP!

Im planning on buying a jdm d15b longblock. I'm a noob towards the whole motor swap thing. I need to know the things i need to swap a d15b into my stock dx hatch (d16y7). And i was wondering if i could use any of the stock parts that are in the car already. All that i know i need so far is a dizzy, tranny, ecu, and wiring harness. Help me please.

edit: sorry i put b instead of d.. its fixed though

he mistyped,
he spelled it correctly in the title.

anyways,
I highly recommend running a y8 or z6 transmission, the shorter gears will add alot to the overall quickness of your car.

you'll also need a vtec ecu

i've only done this swap into my 92 cx,
i believe your car is obdII whereas the d15b is obdI(so is my car)

you might have to do some fiddlin with sensors and vacuum lines on the IM, i duno someone could fill in more there.

you'll need to run wires from the vtec solenoid to the ecu also.

Honestly i would just swap in a y8 thats a much easier swap. All you need is the motor, ecu, and dizzy and it goes right in.

D15B is illegal in your state...you cannot swap an older motor into a newer car
find a Y8 (from 96-98, or 99-00 whichever your car is) with the ECU and swap that in

you could do a mini-me
from what i've heard, I think the y7/8 minime has much higher compression than the b7/z6 minime.

course ur car is heavier than dx's too though.. so might end up feelin the same.

really, since you live in oc. i bet your planning on buying your motor from hmotorsonline. This is all you need, d15b longblock, tranny, ecu, and as for the wiring harness just half *** it. that is all. Me and my friend are planning to go to hmotors again to pick up some d15bs...so if you wanna join you can pay for gas

Dont do a mini me if your worried about smog. If you care about smog and passing legally then go with the y8. If you dont care and want to do things the hard way because its JDM then go with the d15. Seriously not worth it in my opinion.
