I just recently got a D15b from hmotorsonline with a silver valvecover and the picture on honda motors is black what is the difference anyone know? thanks

 

i always belived that silver was 96 and up obdII and 92-95 all had black valve covers

 

Peeps in Japan land, also modify thier cars, so the black might have been removed.....

If its newer than 95 it would be odb 2 and have a knock sensor correct? mine does not. Im converting to OBD-1 in my crx i figured since it came out of 92-95 civics this forum would be better suited to my questions. could it be obd 2 with out a knock sensor? im positive its not a mod it looks identical to the d16z6 valvecover on my friends 95 civic ex

If it's OBD-1 then it's 92-95
Plain n simple
the blackvalvecovers came on the earlier 92-93
The silver came 94-95
Doesn't really matter
Seem some F#ck'd up Silvertops
and some NICE blacktops
and vice versa
PLUS they like to swap valvecovers from engine to engine
It's like a game they like to play
HIDE THE CRAPPY ENGINE!!!

 

wheres the dip stick? between the exhaust (92-95) or near the timing belt cover (96+)?
