Solo2 class? Integra LS + JRSC/Engine-swap?
I've got a 95 LS and instead of (as previous posts have hinted at) selling it and getting an RSX-S or R, I'm considering keeping the LS and while keeping it streetable, adding a cage, more serious race mods, etc. I'm just starting to wonder how keen I am on the idea of fugin up a $25K car on the track. (then I'll just get an IS300 or something for the d-driver, but that's OT)
Anyway, my question - If I put a JRSC in it, what class am I going to be in? If I do a GSR engine swap? Or GSR + JRSC? Or whatever...
what kind of class do I end up in? Saw on scca.org it said naturally aspirated for STS, which is what I've been in. Thoughts? Thanks.
(and no, i can't f'in make up my mind on what i want to do for 2002)

You're better off keeping it 'stock' for autocross... or using a different car and keeping that 'stock'... mods do not a fast car make....

So what about this new STX class I just read about a few minutes ago?
Would/could I be in that? Assuming no engine swap and just the JRSC.
I think I read "FI under 2.0"
?

Okay gotchya... understand now.
As someone mentioned above, I can't run stock, as I have ITR rear sway bar, aftermarket springs, and a CAI (i think those are the only mods I have that keep me out of stock)
Also forgot to mention, I plan on running the new v700 Kumho's this year, that would put me in STX, or SM with the JRSC. Correct? (scca's class list is down, anyone have a copy?)
OT: is the RSX-S going to be in the same class as the ITR for 2002?

Looks like STX is a street-tire class. Thus, the Kumho Ecsta V700s would not be legal. Your car is STS-legal now, race tires would bump you to DSP or SM.

For finding out your national competition in DSP/SM,
http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/na...lts/index.html
For local/regional competition, you will have a subset of those.

Okay, thanks for all the posts, but I think i'm still confused...
Is DSP or SM what I would be with a JRSC?
Or was DSP just what I would be with kumho v700's?
Either way, does FI alone put you in SM (or DSP if I'm confused)
Does the rule-book explain all this? Is it online, or only available in print?

Simple bolt-ons (header, intake, ECU/chip, wheels, suspension) would put you in DSP. An engine swap would put you up in SM. You can run R-compound tires in stock, street prepared and street mod.
There isn't anything official online for Solo II rules, but this web site has a good overview of the rules -- it's fairly accurate with the rulebook.

The rule book explains everything. Don't buy one right now, you'll probably get the 2001 rulebook which is now useless. Wait until January for the new one.
A supercharger will put you into Street Modified or E-modified. If you keep it street legal with all emmision equiptment and interior bits, you can run in street mod. If you take any of the interior out or take the emmisions stuff off, you're in E-mod.
Clear as mud?

some of the clubs i've participated in this year made it kind of confusing because they'd lump everyone with r-compound tires into one class, and then everyone on street tires in another. i'm guessing this was because they wanted to give awards/cash away and there wasn't enough people for each individual class, gs, es, cs, etc.
