HFP 2004 ep3?
I just bought a 04 si with the Honda Factory Performance package. I only got a small page that tells me what came on it. It says that the suspension kit is upgraded...but i was wondering if anyone knew if it was a good enough upgrade not to get new suspension. ^^
One more question..... Is there anything that i can add to my car that wont void my warrenty?

if you are confident in keeping your warranty, then you may be able to do minimal things, such as suspension upgrade, to sport(not sure if HFP does come out w. sport suspension). you can choose to have a better wheels and tires package. you may be able to use comptech air filter without voiding it, or keep it on the "DL". you can upgrade swaybar kits. add a tie rod. all in all, anticipate the good and the bad from those upgrades.
i recently had grease coming out of a nipped cv boot, they never got **** with me, after the fact i'm riding on coilovers dropped 2.5 at the front with 30k mi. on it. thank god. they replaced it for free and washed my car! woohoo! although the drawback was they had to special order the boot, in turn i didn't get my car back till the next afternoon.

Have you taken your car out and gone around some corners yet? I would rather out-drive and master the suspension first. Try upgrading tires, like S-03s.
The HFP is stiffer than stock, but Honda dealerships don't have access to the numbers. That was an upgrade I was considering, but I really just wanted the suspension upgrade.
Does the HFP come with 225/45-17 or 215/45-17? I've read two different things. Mugen runs 225.

The suspension on it right now is good i was just unsure how good of an up grade it was. The tires are 215/17 with Yoko wrapped on it. I was wondering about an air intake and it voiding my warranty....because i heard that air intakes increase the HP pretty well for the k series engines. Either way i am in love with the new Ep3. I wasn't a hatch back fan until i drove this car. People make fun of me and call my car a mine PT cruiser, a pregnant guppie and a little shoe. They wont take a ride in it with me either because they know it will be a very impressive ride on the in side. This car is so much fun to drive i am very happy with this purchase^^

Intake makes a noticeable difference, esp in engine noise. Mine sounds very aggressive once I hit the 4500 rpm mark. AEM CAI. Honda hasn't said anything to me about the warranty even though I've taken it at 15K. Honda here in Fresno uses AEM anyway. They have a glass case of AEM stuff. I bet it doesn't because it's a bolt-on.

The HFP kit was $5,000 (It has the whole underbody spoiler, rear wing, upgraded suspension, valve cover, 17 inch rims with Yoko tires) But the car had been sitting on the lot for a while so them gave me a deal on it. The car was $19,000 with the kit they wanted $24,000 for it but i got it for $21,000 before taxes. So i got the kit for $2,000 ^^ It handles really well but i really want some more power now..... but i have a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty from the dealership (as long as i get my car serviced there) so i guess i really need to talk to the dealership and see what they have to say. I have heard rumors tho as long as its a bolt-on part that is acceptable to Honda and installed but a Honda certified tech that it wont void my warranty but i really have no idea.
On a different note i have a good story for you guys....... There is this kid Tommy that workes at subway next to my work. He has been talking mad shyt to me bout my new car. So i told him that i would take him for a ride and shut him up. He told me that he doesn't need a ride he knows its a "Jap Crap Car" and they all ride the same. I convinced him to take a delivery with me (I delivery Pizza, lots of driving for me^^) I was taking corners at full speed and showing him what my "Jap Crap Car" can really do. He was terrified the whole time, he told me i am crazy for driving my car like that. I replied with no my "Jap Crap Car" allows me to drive like that. Next he still thought his Saab was faster than mine. So we went out and raced them....... he had a x20 or something like that 170hp (i think he said with at turbo) first i stomped he by 2 good car lengths until we hit bout 90 mph then we hit the corners and he slowed way down...... i only down shifted and then plowed through the corners and left him in the dust. I saw him at work the other day and he was bragging to his friends on how bad *** this car really is.
I am slowly getting respect that this car deserves.

I agree 5,000 is a lot for the kit but i got the kit for 2,000 because the car had been sitting on the lot for so long.^^ That and getting the whole kit i could include that into my monthly payment. The 17 inch Honda rims are worth 2,000 without the tires so either way i feel i got a good deal on the car. I have some pics of it but i am having issues downloading them on to the thread. I think i need to use my Buddy's camera because mine is old and shitty. I actually just got a new shift boot in the mail today. I hate that Camry shift boot look alike that is in there. The boot i got is suede with red stitch to match my seats. It looks a lot better in my opinion. I will work on getting you some pics of my car. I like the badges you put on there. If you like the way that it looks then screw anyone else who doesn't.... its not their car
Keep it up make that car the way you want it.
The other question i have is..... with the under-body spoiler on my car i am un sure if i can get the stock fog lights to fit. Because the lip covers part of the fog lights housing. So if you have any ideas i would be glad to hear them.

hey thanks
well with fog lights . i think the stock ones should work . i have to look at the body kit you got again , i dont remember what it looks like lol. do the fog lights come with there own grill insert ? im going to find your kit and look at it . theres not many people with your honda kit that ive seen . i had to make my own wire harness for my headlights lol, so i should be able to get foglights in your bumper .
where did you get the shift boot from . is it a factiory type-r option or somthing . i cant find a aftermarket shift boot . i do have a **** just like the type-r tho lol.

I bought the shift boot off e-bay. Its a hand made boot that is custom made for your car. I will try to find the seller i bought it from. They also have a leather with red stitch if you want that one. It comes with an e brake cover too but it doesn't look very good from what i could tell. But it looks sweat matches the seats perfectly. But i am having some issues getting my dash board off to get to the shift boot. I set up another thread asking for help. Any ideas?
Modding your car depends on the dealer, they can void your warrantly if you come in for suspension repairs when all you have is an intake. I've read about it many times, people not getting warranty work because of some mod they have that isn't even related to the problem, it all depends on your dealer. It's not right, but they still do it.
O yea and alpine, no one here really likes altezza style lights or people who put badging on their car from another trim. You're not fooling anyone and it makes you look like a moron. I'm surprised you haven't been flamed for it yet, anyway your car do what you want.

In ''Alpine192's'' defense...just in case you guys haven't realized getting your car USDM import to full JDM-spec is the standard, however, some people are more into the flashy-side of this...ie...show cars. These type of cars come a dime a dosent, few remain loyal and true to the true JDM-spec. Afterall, they are the people who started all of this. In fact many people follow in Japan's footsteps, so it's not uncommon to see people with wearing the Type-R badges, but it doesn't necessarily make them a ''posuer'' as long as you and i know better and they know better and as long as they're not trying to fool anyone, then who cares? You like what you like and no one can tell you any better, opinions are like a$*holes...everybody's got one. In my opinion JDM is the sh*t, and just as long as imports and people who's into this are still around, people will always follow the popular JDM trends. I rest my case. Car enthusiasts alike, we should all beable to appreciate eachother's tastes, style, or opinions, and not fight over who's right and who is incorrect. This topic is far too controversial to know what's right and what's wrong...find out which formula works for you, and stick with it. GAME OVER!

honda fogs will not fit with the honda kit on. also a jdm kit will not run you 600 dollars, but cost around 1600-1900 dollars. The usdm replica lip kit can cost around 600 dollars but you still have to get it painted and you will still have the bumper lenses on the car.
hey
ive seen the kit for ale at that price . a replica one . i was not talking about a real jdm kit . a after market kit . yes your right about it being a lip and stuff . the one ive see was a front lip side , skirts and rear lip . id have to buy the upper wing seperate . if you have any more info on it would be nice . i always like to learn new info .
thanks

The dealer will try to automatically un-warrantee anything that the lowering springs touch, which is basically anything to do with hubs, shocks, and probably axles.
Most dealers will not automatically un-warrantee drivetrains for lowering springs; however, there could be legitimate issues if the lowering springs are in conjunction with wheels that radically alter the gear ratios. You won't know until it happens, and every dealer will be different in this regard.
And then, if you appeal, you'll discover that every district manager is different. Some of them are performance friendly, some of them are not, but all of them will have preconceived notions about how to tell whether or not you know what you're doing, know what you're talking about, and whether or not you've used quality parts in your modifications.
