Default How often are Black R's stolen?

How many Black R's have been stolen here on the boards? Most of the threads I've seen have been CW or PY. Is this because those two colors are more rare and noticible to those **** heads(thieves)?

Oh one other question of the stolen arRR's which were debaged?

many times, cw and py R's are more noticeable. however, i am sure many black R's have been stolen as well. regarding the badges, it depends on what the thieves want. if the thieves want every part of the car, they can definitely strip the hell out of the car.

for the badges I mean do they have the type R stickers on the back and sides? or are the debadged so it isn't as easy to tell if they are type r's?

This is because Black Integra "Type-R's" are not REAL Type-R's. They are just rebadged LS's sold by Acura to try and make a quick buck. Since they don't have genuine ITR parts, thieves can't make as much money off them and they know this.

It's not the color they are after....

And a "real" thief will know if it's a type R...whether it has badges or not...

exactly. if a professional low life can bypass LAYERS of top security, you better believe he knows what hes going after as well.

And we're saying that they would all be noticed the same. Thieves know what they're looking for.

The black ITR is a myth, much like the Phoenix

Yes any of them can and will get stolen if the wrong people really want to take them, there's no doubt about that.

But in my experience having owned both a PY and a black R, the black is indeed more stealthy. It draws alot less negative attention.

If you go a few steps further as I did in the past and remove badging, wing and cover up the 5 lug, it draws even less attention, and unless it's someone who know's what they're looking for, it gets mistaken for an RS.

I still think you're being naive...if someone KNOWS what they are after, there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't be able to tell the difference between an RS and an ITR....

True, but thieves can spot a PY from a mile away.

It really does not matter what color your R is. If the thieves know what it is, they will steal it regardless of color. It is not like they will not steal your car because it is black.
