i was just wonderin because i wanna get a new exhaust because my current set up(built y8, header cai, ebay high flow cat, and a greddy evo is wayyyyy too loud.
dont get me wrong, i love the way it sounds...sounds really hard but at cruising speed its just too loud for my liking, especially now that its gettin colder outside!!
it seems like a nice upgrade and i like the stealthy look, i just dont wont something thats absolutely quiet...

Not sure if its a apexi N1, but its some type of N1 style muffler.

i got a world sport and painted the can high temp flat black, and i love the sound. i wanted the rs-r cuz i got a ticket for my n1, but it was like 485. so i saved a little over 100 bucks and got the WS. i love it. just letting you know so you can save some money.
It has a nice rumble too.

I had some luck with a magnaflow system. It had a really beefy note to it. It didn't rumble like some engine with ten gallons of displacement, but it don't sound like my neighbor's lawnmower.
Then i put on a 4-1 DC header.
Now my z6 sounds like that same lawn mower, but with a microphone and loudspeaker on it. Sucks hairy ones.

Do you have a resonator or no? Without one you'll get buzzing/lawn mower/fart can ricer sound.
RS*R is a good exhaust. Quiet

I had an N1 with 2.5 all the way back on my Gsr swapped del sol, way loud. I just about 3 months ago but on the RS-R exmag......OH MY GOD sickest sounding exhaust ever and lets be honest for most of us who only drive on the street the only thing that really matters with an aftermarket exhuast (in a street application) is the tone........BUY IT NOW!

on ur profile it says upstate ny.....im in liberty if ur in the local area id love to hear ur car!!
I'd go with the Apexi WS or the RS-R Exmag like suggested, both great looking/sounding exhausts. I'm about to let go of my Apexi N1 for a WS, too damn low for NY roads.
Haha I saw your from Liberty, I use to live in Monticello until I was like 13 back in like 97.

I'm running the RS*R, and I love it. It's stock quiet at idle and while cruising on the highway, I can't hear it even with the seats folded down. Blip the throttle, and you'll hear a nice low, but not too loud, grumble. At WOT, it sounds awesome, especially in a tunnel or under a bridge. It's sounds so good, than a few of my friends are considering exhausts for their cars now.
The fitment was near perfect, I've never seen better in an aftermarket. The bends and hanger locations were exactly as stock when I lined them up next to each other. The only problem I had was that the hanger over the LCA was about an inch too long for some reason; but I didn't even notice until I installed my sway, and they knocked when going over bumps. I had posted a thread on it, and I seemed to be the only one with the problem. Good ol' oxy-accetaline fixed that right up though:

I'd buy this exhaust again in a heartbeat.

problem solved boys.......i snagged my boys apexi n1 silencer and tapped it into my greddy evo and shes whisper quiet at idle, a slight hum on the highway, and when u get on it, its much more tolerable now than b4, but still makes just enough noise to get u by......i can hear my intake again...YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
You should have bought the EXMag. I had one on my old '99 Civic. It sounded sweet and looked great. Gave the exhaust a nice throaty sound that dropped to a gentle rumble as RPMs fell. Helped open up the engine a bit on high revs as well.
Basically, anything less is a fart can.
