Default +100 Hp turbo kit

I was checking overboost website and looking at a turbo kit for a 5th gen prelude...

http://www.overboost.com/obs/p...0Kits

If anyone can take alook at what they are offering.. Do you believe a 5th gen would really get those types of numbers.. i mean it claims that ls got like what 110-120 hp from it.. also if it does work Im wondering how long the engine will last with that kit on a stock engine.. Anyone has any input or ideas please respond.

I realize the fuel that was used and it was running at 11psi.. which is alot.. but still.. you think that kit is 2 much for every day driving.. or as the name suggests just Drag..

You have that same kit? Have you done any previous mods to your engine?

he wasnt being confusing - he was answering the question you've asked in a couple different threads now.

he has a boosted prelude - he gained 107 hp out of his set-up - it has lasted two weeks so far - there's nothing confusing about that. he never said he had a kit - in fact in the last thread you started he mentioned he went custom i think.

you asked how long a 100+ hp kit would last on a prelude engine - chris just said it would last for 2 weeks because that how long his has lasted.

btw, we're trying to help you, in this thread and in the other one you started.

you want an exact answer how long the motor is gonna last. well, it will last 4 months 5 days 2 hours and 16 seconds. there you go. you can take that information to the bank......cause it is 100% accurate. if you don't believe me ask every other turbo prelude owner and they'll give you the same exact amount of time to the second.

Read up in the FI forum, and do some searches here to get the information you seek.

you're quite welcome. i'm not trying to be harsh, i just hate when people don't accept answers from experienced people. you asked a question to which there was no definite answer, so we gave you the best answer based on the info you gave us, and based on what people have experienced in the past with the stock h22 turbo motor. since you're new, i got you a present.

new people starter kit:

i agree with you - reading on this site is a great way to get info - so you're welcome.

but we give you a hard time to force you to research this stuff before you ask such general and vague questions. the amount you know about turbo and your own car is the general determining factor of long your car will last with boost. your questions, both of them, have no real merit because they are to vague - there's too many ways to answer it, due to too many variables.

we're trying to help, not flame, you'll find if you do some research on your own, post a specific question, you'll get responses from guys who really know what they're talking about - guys who know the right way because they've learned or seen people learn the hard way.

asking a question in a thread is not research, and the knowledgeable mass of this forum doesn't waste their valuable time to give their hard learned knowledge to someone who wont even search before asking a question.

have a good one.

OOOOO TY i love presents... anyways when being new at things.. you need to have things you can look at givens.. even if they arent right.. when someone asks a question its usually because they are trying to under stand a smaller peice of a bigger question.. Your telling me that out of all the people you know who have had long lasting engines and short lasting engines.. not being able to come up with some type of quick thinking, reasonable answer to a very vague question of mine.. (vague because im not sure what im asking.. which is why i need a answer and not just a referrence) isnt a plausable idea? the time you guys spent telling me about variables.. and no sure answers and so on.. could have been 10 times less and just a guestimate from your experiences to help further along the ideas in my head im trying to combine to answer questions from myself... theres student that learn best from reading.. theres student that learn best from doing.. theres students that learn best from example.. and ones from feedback.. and other from teaching.. well i learn best from teaching.. even if i have to teach myself.. but im trying to come up with some basis.. as to reasons why i would or would not.. and to understand if 2 years witha turbo engine is long.. that i do not know.. as with many other questions.. im teaching myself through all of you guys feedback.. sorry if its complicated.. so just give me an answer that can at least somewhat explain my logic if possible.. if you cant then dont bother.... ok sorry for the long as.. pretty much meaningless post to the prelude community.. but its meaningful to me

so you understand what i'm trying to say, i'll ask you a question and try to see if you can answer it without saying....."well, it depends on.......yada, yada"

here's the question:

How much power does a car or truck make when you put some kind of power adder on it?

see if you can answer that for me. now you're in my shoes.
