Installed toda spec C's... broken OEM cam? :O (56k = 56kABOOM)
Yup, so the b18c5 is stock with bolt-ons...
I installed spec b's in this motor a long time ago, then went back to stock cams.
Yesterday I installed spec c's in this car. I have always gone by the helms 100% tq'ing and double checking every install.
Here's the removal of the stock itr cams:

WTF IS THAT?!

...let me check the cam cap there:

Perhaps a magnet will help?

that soft aluminum got ate up real good..... luckily the pieces stayed right there!

after removing the intake cam, what do I find?

putting the pieces of the puzzle together CSI style...

the work area (parking lot at apt)

comparo of cams (stock on left, spec c on right)

(stock above, spec c below)

Now the spec c install went very smoothly other than finding the fucked up stock itr intake cam. I was revving this cam to 10k rpm without any problems (or so I thought).
I even raced the car at 9k+ rpm the previous day.....
I have toda valve springs, portflow Ti retainers, and PE timing belt, but that's weird... I'm thinking maybe because I have 0 deflection in my timing belt (super tight), it maybe caused this somewhere along the line?
Driving impressions with spec c's... I tried them with Austin's hondata program that's set for stock cams and it idles like stock. I then tried them with stock p73 and it idles like stock. No idle problems whatsoever... cam gears at 0,0 and prelude 290cc injectors...
On drop-in of spec c's I did one baseline dyno just to make sure it wasn't running lean... the tq curve is fuxord, but the hp curve is quite linear - peaking at 179.99whp...
Tuning coming soon!

yes...
stock vs. spec c's aren't worth the $ invested if you don't tune.....
The spec c's gain some peak on drop-in, but lose some low end (ironically).
I believe they will stomp the stock cams once I get some crazy settings on the cam gears... I dunno if I have the ***** to advance more than 10 degrees on the intake cam...

That little broken piece is not from the Toda cam. It's from the stock intake cam.

Hey, maybe Rota will start making cams. That way we can all hear stories about how the Rota cams broke and the real ones would have lasted.
BTW, I'm still waiting for my Rota wheels to break and my Toda C's broke my timing belt.........

i bet the reason, it took out your head was cromely intake filter w/ bypass hehehehe j/k
it looks to me, some1 must of installed or tighten the cam caps loose. I use to have gsr reving 14k rpm, didn't make those damages. <-- instead piston & block was f*cked.

joke??? NO
It was tragedy...
I had toda spec b w/ jun valve spring. back then i had little knowledgement, which i end up rev up to 14k rpm.. Strangely, my car was making noise similar to blow-off valve noise at that time. I thought my car was just damn fast since it makes blow valve noise with all motor engine. Hehehehe. After a month pass by, motor just died in the middle of the street. When I pulled the motor a part, I saw big mess. There was grind metals everywhere. I realize that blow off valve noise was coming from compressed air leaking from piston ring hehehehe.
That’s my story ….

it looks to me, you'll need to get new cam caps(at least).
