Default IMMOBILIZERS???

I have heard that OBD2 ecu's have immobilizers and if you try to connect the ecu to your car it won't work

can anyone tell me if this is true and also what immobilizers do?

thanks

OBDII ECU's require a signal to be received from the key. Inside each 97-01 Key is a computer chip. This is what sends a signal to the ECU. There are ways around it, but you will need an OBDII Key eaither way. Or you could me smooth and swap the OBDI sticker on the ECU for an OBDII sticker and fool the B.A.R guys.
