I decided to run a compression test when i went to look at it, motor seemed good, no smoking are anything like that.

My question is do you guys still think i should pick it up, b16a longblocks arent that expensive. OR do you think i should pass up on this thing

looks like the piston ring is messed up in the low number 80 ... you can pick it up its a good deal if you can get it for $1300

 

Yeah it might be the rings but it didnt seem to be smoking. i should of poured a lil oil down in teh cylinder then tested it

so $1700 is to much you think?

 

is the car running.... have you physically test drive it.... it seems like that compression is too low... either that or that cylinder is scored pretty bad.....
i think you can get it lower.... $1300 favorable...

 

well car seemed healthy he had it listed at 2500 and he said he will go 1700 but i decided id run a comression test since it was a swapped car

$1500 then... just say that compression is low on one of the cylinders and it would take $200 to repair it... other than that... you can always get another block for cheap in HT... and you can reuse the b16 Vtec head....

yea just a b18c1 short block complete.... and go poor man's ITR.... and maybe a just sell the b16 block or save it for another project...

 

Yeah i guess im gonna ask him if he will take 1700
