Default JUN cam impressions

Well I'm building an all motor H22 and am in the market for some new cams. I've done my fare share of research on the Crower and Skunk2 bumpsticks, but have had a hard time finding any info on the JUN stage III's. I've seen a couple people on this board run the JUN's and was wondering if I could get some real world feedback. I've run a search and came up with a few threads that were helpful, but was wanting a few more specifics...

1) How do you like the power delivery of the JUN cams? Where does the power begin to build over stock?

2) How is the idle? I want to keep my car streetable and a wavy or really lumpy idle wouldn't sit right with me.

3) Any custom machinework needed to run the cams with the factory rockers?

4) Is it absolutely necessary to run the JUN valvetrain with these cams? The JUN springs and retainers are pretty pricey compared to other companies, but if this is a must, then I can justify spending the extra $$$.

Thanks for any input you can give

im in love with Jun products.

Power is pretty impressive from vtec on up.

No lumpy idle or anything like that when the car is at operating temp. Maybe a lump or two during warm up but thats to be expected.

No machine work needed to the rockers.

I ran the Jun valve train along with the cams. I guess you could buy another aftermarket valve train setup, just make sure its equal to or better than the jun stuff. Also, these cams LOVE high compression. If at all possible, get some high comp valves, maybe a thin head gasket. High comp pistons would be best. Im not sure who makes the Bumpstixx. I think its like Edyne or somethin, but those are supposed to be pretty impressive. Id also recommend a full port and polish while the head is disassembled.

Thanks for your input. I'm going to be running an Alaniz modified head with whatever cams I decide to go with. Compression should check in at 11.5:1 with the JE pistons, maybe a little more if I decide to use a thinner head gasket. I haven't decided on an intake manifold yet. Might just have the factory one reworked or strap on some ITB's (if my luck at the poker table changes)

They make awesome products. Some people have complained of drive train clatter or something of that nature, but i have not experienced that.

Ive had Jun components for quite a while. Love it! Would not even dare to switch cams. My power delivery is pretty impressive even below vtec. These cams make lots of power on the primary and secondary lobes, then make more on the vtec lobe. I dont think its all necessary to run only Jun valvesprings and retainers, but it helps.... there are better valvesprings and such out there.
