Questions about specifics on a OBD2b D16y8 to be put into OBD2a vehicle!

Just as the topic states, I'm planning to temporarily run a 99-00 OBD2b D16y8 in a 96-98 OBD2a vehicle. My only problem is I only have ready access to a P2E 96-98 DX ECU. I understand that vtec will not work but I have a few questions:

What codes can I expect to run into with this motor/ecu combonation?

Will the car even run or hold an idle with this combination?

Are there any other problems I can expect from this (CKP problems possibly)?

(Oh and the search function didnt pull up anything on this specifically.

the car will be able to hold an idle...just no vtec and if i remember right your redline will be lower
