People with Pager Alarms whats the Actual Range.
Pager ranges are real bullshit. The range is tested under unreal circumstances. In order to get optimum range you would have to have 0 interference from electrical sources: ie power line, neon lighting. Also you would have to have the unit in direct sight with each other ie. no concrete walls, or having the unit underground or being blocked by a big *** tree. I think the farthest that I have ever gotten with my Code Alarm is about 350-400 ft. The range is supposed to be a mile. Realistically though I think that is a great improvement over units that don't have the paging ability.

this is the truth for any wireless unit.. be it two way radio, remote car system, etc. They always test in lab conditions that are pefect... my 5 mile motorola GMRS radio.. HA... my friend and i could barely make it from one end of down town to the other here, which is maybe 2 miles or so.... but when he was up at a clear spot on a mountain near here I could pick him up about 5 miles away.

You will still get better range and at least a chance of being notified of the alarm going off. With traditional alarms you have no chance in hell of knowing.
