Turbo Manifold Fabbing
I'm planning on doing a junkyard turbo setup. I was reading that you could make your own turbo mani. I'm just a bit lost on how it'd be when it's all done.
Here's what's in my head -
cut up piping and weld together to have it equal length etc etc...
BUT, what do you do with the inner walls of the mani?? maybe i'm not as experienced as everyone is with welding, but when i weld pipes together at angles and such, the inner walls are not smoothe at the joints. Do you get it honed and stuff on the insides or no?
And then i also think of when i welded my exhaust system together instead of just clamps...i'm guessing that didnt make a difference whether it was smoothe on the inside or not. barking up the wrong tree??
oh well, thanks for any help you guys give.

good question, try reading the Newbie FAQ over at homemadeturbo.com they've got some pretty good info on how to build your own manifolds.
I thought about it a bit, and i think it's negligible, exhaust gases are flowing at a tremendously fast rate...hard to imagine a few bumps could slow it down enough to make a diff. And i figured that the metal wouldnt seep through if i held the pipes together tightly.
