Default max rpm for stock sleeves?

hey,
right now i'm just building all motor, i'm getting some JG cams and stuff like that for my LS..

i know the rods should be upgraded, and the rotating assembly balanced for higher RPM, but, what about the sleeves should the block be resleeved for higher rpm use? i know its a good idea for boost, but not sure about more rpm.

thanks in advance.

when u rebuild ur bottom end, just have your sleeves honed.....
stock sleeves will go pass 9k easily...if u have an LS your going to have to get some kinda girdle for the block...

thanks,
well i have an extra LS block and head..
i've been looking at the z10 block girdle for this engine.
i wanna rev to about 8500 with these custom JG cams i'm picking up on friday.

the extra LS block is getting built. was thinking of getting some CTR pistons (hope i got enuf valve clearance with these cams).

i'm a poor college student so cant spend lots of money, just trying to get some good deals and see what i come up with.

its not your sleeves that you really have to worry about its the rods on the car hondas have very strong sleeves that tend not to break. Iam not saying you can rev to 11000 rpm's on them so just be careful.

No chance of boosting that thing on NOS or turbo or super , right? If not then do not worry about the block as in NA should not be a prob. Others may disagree (but not too much), but it is torque and detonation generated by those systems that influence the block.

Revs in NA won't change much and a microbalance very good idea - just make sure you give them everything incl. pulley and flywheel, etc.

I did not even microbalance mine (b16a) and it has survived well up into the 9.5k rev range quite nicely...

thanks guys,
i'm planning on Eagle Rods, and having everything balanced.

and i'm only gonna take it to 8500 rpm

some time in the future i'm getting a turbo, but that is wayyy in the future, i'm in college and have 4 years left.. (Mechanical engineering major, this college makes it a 5 years degree) after i graduate, i'll completely rebuild the motor with golden eagle sleeves, Je Pistons, etc. the whole WORKS

right now i'm just building it on a budget. for NA.
i just need to know what i can and cant do.
