Just when I thought I would try to qualify for this class......I guess 12's won't cut it.
Oh well!!!!!!!!
What if there are not 16 cars that qualify, then what?
Not too happy about the rule changes. Im not sure what happened in Englishtown last weekend for NHRA to make these changes.

i think it might be a mistake to have an 11.99 requirement for this class and excluding non full bodied cars. granted it is supposed to be the QUICK 16 but what happens when you cant fill the class? in englishtown i really thought there was going to be alot of cars. i guess maybe some people just didnt know about it yet. but you cant fault the guy with the slow car who had the brains to just pay the extra money and go for it. he qualified and he used his SKILL to win. if people dont want the slow cars in the class they should find a way to encourage people in the faster brackets to try and qualify. give it time it will catch on.

sound like a good idea huh?</TD></TR></TABLE>
i have a feeling that this just may happen. Where else can they run in NHRA-not SFWD and they really don't want to bracket race.
I guess I will try to give it a shot w/ potential high 12's.
or ET-1 here I come.

LOL...it was also supposed to have a real purse that would've possibly attracted some of the faster cars...but that apparently hasn't worked out either. $500 to win (with no exposure either) is a joke if you have a car that costs 500-1000 to run for a weekend for consumables, wear and race expenses.
None of the contingency matches up with the faster cars, so that's out. I'm probably going to run it (unless I get banned from that class also...), but that's because I only live 20 miles from Pomona.

ok, hopefully old guy from the NHRA will change the rules now. in the original thread about the new quick 16 field, the NHRA said they would use a full tree because of the handicapped start. now that they have put a cap on the ETs at 11.99 and quicker i would expect them to use a pro tree instead. it only makes sense.
he stated in the original thread that the reason they were using full tree is so guys dont have to sit on the rev limiter for too long in case of such 3-4 second handicaps. now, i would suspect that if they can even fill this field the fastest ETs will be somewhere in the 10s. so less than 2 seconds between the first car to go and the second car = not much time on the limiter.
so, NHRA, are u guys watchin??? are we goin to get a pro tree for this field??? i guess my say doesnt matter anyways cause u guys wont be back in the NW for 05'

i dont know how u could have won. even in regular brackets he was only .05 off his dialin where u were .07. just assuming the exact same lights u still would have lost. but as it was u were a full tenth and a half slower at the tree. theres no way u would have won considering its still a race to the end.
Yeah a 10 sec car against a 18 sec car? Come on!!! This class is suppose to target the fast cars! That camry was slick about entering this class he made out! Well, you only learn from your mistakes so that cut-off is a good idea.

I think not having a real purse is going to be the biggest problem for getting "fast" (no offense intended...<10 seconds). cars to enter. $500 to win isn't going to pay for much.
