Default Is my new car a DX or SI

It was about 10 at nite at this mechanic shop and i was with my girlfriend in her talon tsi 95 automatic that i just sold her so i was looking for a new car preferably a honda civc hatch, out of the corner of my eye i saw a 1990 soft blue hatchback for sale....as we turned around i was hopin it was a 5 speed. To my surprise it was std and the light in the mechanics shop was still on so i knocked on the door and asked if i could buy that civic right now.... It only has 95,000 miles on originally
it has a blue leather interior its in very good condtion that guy said it stopped running last week due to the main relay but he fixed it and he started it up and took me around the block.... he wanted 1500 so i offered 1000 then he said no so i said 1200 and he said deal. I forgot to look at the back for the dx or si badge...it is fuel injected and had a spoiler on the top back , from this information could you guys tell me if its a Si,Dx or the other one? Im goin to pick up the car in about an hour but i cant wait

Did it have a factory sunroof? If so it's an Si. If not, it's a DX.
you can also tell by the tailpipe...if it is factory. The Si will have 2 outlets and the DX just one.

the dx and si are both fuel injected eccept that the dx is Dfpi(dual fuel point injection) and the si/hf models are the mfpi(multi fuel point injection).

I said that the "factory" exhaust was that way. I know that there may be maybe one of them left out there with a factory replacement system, but it was just another visual difference.

it did have a stock exhaust but i cant remember the outlets i think when i looked under the engine it did multi point fuel injection but i dunno becuase ive only seen dx's with that baby blue color and blue leather....i just wanna know becuase i gonna keep that motor in it and try to get 200 whp out of it..with upgraded pistons and rings and other engine stuff. Is there any lip kits for the 89-91 civic ?

Look under the hood for an emission label stuck to the underside of the hood. This will tell all about what motor should be sitting in thee engine bay. Look at the block from the front of the car just left of the exhaust manifold on the middle edge of the block should be an engine code on a small flat rectangle. Bring a rag cause if no one has look there it is probably gonna be very greasy and dirty. It will probably say d15b7 or somethin'. I had an old 88 dx hatch that said d16z6.

I don't think the DX had the vinyl interior. It has to be a STD.

Yeah, the only reason I bring it up, is that I've heard that some DX's do.
