i just ran across an h22a engine with obd 1, which is what i have, and is alot cheaper than the type r setup i was about to do..
want to know from people who have actually done this swap all the nasty stuff about it.
I want to keep my ac, power steering, and it needs to be reliable like a daily driver
has anyone done this swap? not necessarily urself, but had it done?
any ideas on how much the installtion would cost at a shop? i dont feel like cutting up my car myself to put in an H... the only knowledge i have on the swap so far is the september 2003 issue of honda tuning

yea, it is the complete swap, but i know that i would have to get custom axles from somewhere, trim the tranny side engine mount and buy the mount kit, cut a hole in the floor and firewall for the cable shifter, weld the shifting assembly where my current rod shifter is, and past that, im not too sure.....
if it is gonna cost like 800 or so, id just pay a shop to do it

keeping the a/c is possible just a pain getting the engine in since its so tight. power steering requires custom lines.
i expect that it will cost a lot mroe than $800 at a shop though.
you got the engine cost, then the cost of the mount kit (must use HCP mounts with the ac bracket for the lowest price), then axles, then eitehr a customer header or some exhaust mods. then rewiring the harness, also you will probably wnat to freshen up your brakes and suspension depending on what you have installed right now.
possibly a new radiator, as well a slim line fan unless you hack up the stock fan.
i did all the work on mine on my own about 2 or so years ago and it cost me about $4500, with NO labor charges from a shop...
