I had the water pump go bad recently on my 89 civic, I bought one from a local junk yard and installed it. As soon as i started it up it ran like **** and died , it would start back up but still run like ****. The day before i installed the water pump i did a tune up on it. Someone told me i may have moved something while installing the water pump so when i started it i bent a valve I dont know if this is true and i really dont want to go thru taking my head about and crap to fine out that it anit bent. Maybe the timing is off? maybe the distributor went bad? i really dont know maybe someone here can be kind and help me out with it thanks a lot!

wow, why the hell did you buy a used water pump for? and did you put everything at top dead center before you put the belt back on? if you didnt you probly bent a valve and now the head needs to be built.
