radio question
I have a 2000 gsr and recently changed the battery last weekend. Unaware of the anti theft my radio has i am unable to get it working again. after changing the battery i ended up getting the serial, reference and model numbers off of the radio.
I come home from college this weekend and take it to the local acura dealership (closed last weekend by the time i got to the radio and all) to get the radio code. Come back to my house and put the code in and it does not work. I tired the number 3 times. Called the acura dealership up and they told me i had to disconnect the battery and then enter the code. Did that. Still didnt work. So i opened up the manual and it said to keep the radio on for 1 hour then try again. Did that and still does not work. Code was entered correctly everytime.
Question that i have is am i a total idiot and doing something wrong, if so what is it, or did acura just give me a messed up number. I have read previous posts and done what is said, the number does not appear in the glovebox, under the ash tray, and i did not recieve a card when i purchased the vehicle. Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to get the radio working before i go back to college tomorrow night

Open up your glove box from the drivers seat. There might be a little white sticker on the side you can see from the drivers seat. Thats where my code was.
There are also other places where your code might be, search h-t.

okay....so youre putting the code in after it says code on it right? youre not just putting it in before it says anything are you?........like if you go to turn the radio on, itll say "CODE" on it and then you put it in.
well if you bought the car used, theres always the possibility that the radio was from a different car... in this case- the vin number of your car would pull up the code for the radio of your car... if it is a different one youll need the code from the one it was taken from.. thats the only thing i cant hink of.
chances are the dealer had the right code, its a database and its pretty accurate im sure
