Default dash trim help

Hi,

I want to put on some brushed aluminum dash trim. My question is, what are my options? On ebay they go for around $100 for the whole kit. Are these stickers that go over the existing ones, or are they actual trim that I replace existing ones with. Is that even possible to get?

Are the stickers kinda cheesey? I mean how well does it look? Please school me.

Talking about 5th gen Accord here.

there are some welders that make these. One is on ebay. Its a real alum. trim pannel. They also take custom orders. Or go the cheap rout and do brush or stick vinel on.

Me going for full custom look and going to cut my own when I find the right kind of metal/alum/ or other fab. I want.

Good luck and happy hunting

Are the kits nopi sell stickers or are they just plastics in that color? I assumed they were plastics but now I'm not sure.

there are lots of cheap rip offs out there that are nothing but stickers. and they charge loads for them. Nothing but vinel or plastic stickers. I have even seen them on the 03 04 focus and some integra's and honda's.
They look like crap up close, like the scratch and sniffs from the 80's.

But most people don't know this until they buy thinking they got a supper deal. And BAMN nothing but stickers.

Ok I didn't know some were stickers. I hate stickers it always has a little bubble or scratch or something so you know it is a sticker then eventually it starts coming off and I don't want stickers. I have looked at the kit from Nopi is it stickers or is it the actual plastic in a different color.

From my understanding from some that have it already. Its just color on one side tape on the other. Not actual plastic replacement.

Best of luck finding real Plasic and/or metal/alum. to put in.

thats why going to make my own. that way I know what I got and paid for.

Been there done that. Back in my retarded days I bought those and it wasnt worth it. Its a cool idea but doesnt transfer well into a modification. IMHO Id say even a real metal kit would be a bad mod, I mean lets say the sun hits any part of the metal just right and BLAM you're getting blinded by something in your interior. I know Ive been blinded before and that was just from my dark brown dashboard (5th gen). If you live in a state that gets temps over 100 degrees....well lets just say ouch! Function over form is way better than form over function. But thats just my opinion

yea agree, that is why going with custom plastic with maybe metal/alum. inlays with color. reduces the shine back when hit with light. and can cover it with UV coat that way hit and little to no shine back to blind you. Did that on some lead crystal. Worked sweet.
All a custom design. Like to stand out as one of a kind. Don't like looking at my ride and then another and seeing all the same parts. That is sucky.

I wouldn't want the stickers or real medal I would want colored plastic. I have thought about painting mine but I don't care enough about it and like how it looks now. I have a friend that had an S-10 Extreme and painted the door handles and stuff yellow to match the outside of his truck and they turned out really well thats what I was thinking Nopi's should look like.

Be unique, i didnt do it to my car yet but i did my buddy's 89 legend, we took it and used a steel wool brush and made circular movements on the original plastic and then spraypainted it witha spraygun in my friends garage and then put uv coating on it and it came out really nice total ammount of money spent $17.00 time aprox 2hrs ands its well worth it
