Default What could have caused my p28 to go south???????

Its been running for the whole summer, then last night the car throws a code and goes into limp mode. We try to re-burn the chip for my hondata, and try a few other things but the check engine light says on. Finally we swap the ecu with another and the light goes out. So the ecu is the problem.
What could have caused it to screw up?

Please exlpain? We swap ECU's out like crazy and have never had a problem. Were you pulling the ECU's while the key was in ON position?

Your ECU trouble may have been caused by the tune/burn. I use Uberdata and sometimes when something fails to be established properly Uberdata will pop up and will say "May cause ecu failure". This happens to me and I have to close the program out and reopen. Just a thought though.
