Is there a difference between an Iceman and AEM CAI?
Im about to order an CAI but i would like to know is there a noticeable difference between the Iceman and AEM CAI besides the price of the Iceman being cheaper? How many HP should i be looking forward to getting with the Iceman and the AEM?
I already have a Thermal Full Exhaust System and a testpipe with no AC..How much HP should i be looking forward to when i get my CAI?

i wouldn't expect much horsepower from just an intake, but i have heard the aem is better quality than the iceman, i don't think your gonna notice a huge difference but hey, you might , and the testpipe is not really worth it, if you get caught with that **** you'll be facing a very large fine...........i'd put the cat back on, just to be a little bit more legal............
from the dynos i have scene (the few btw)
the iceman cai tends to yeild more hp down low and loose some uptop, in contrast to the aem cai

i have no rubbing with my iceman. difference is materials. same shape, and concept. There have been many posts done. try a search. It comes down to a matter of personal oppinion and price. I have done some research with the two for a project. concluded that plastic retains less heat and remains cooler while opperating. But again, it depends on tastes.

The ICEMAN rubs all over. Especially on the air condition line. The AEm fits better.
haha, omg...
i have the iceman cai, and it has never rubbed. its a perfect fits and has two areas where you can bolt it Firmly to the frame of your car. aem only has one?
the icmean is also a two piece system, and yes, it is a bitch to swtich back and forth but its better to be safe than sorry.
the iceman is made of heat resistant, durable plastic and not cheap aluminum which can dent like shlt. (if you wanna test this, run your car for a couple of hours. now if you have the aem intake, and you touch the piping, ur hand will burn like ****. now, with the iceman, your hand will not burn at all). if you know anyone with the iceman, and another guy with the aem, compare the two. the iceman is more secured, and will not rattle or move at all, the aem will rub and so on.
im not a retailer for iceman, but yeah, its not as bad as those people who got ripped off by AEM claimed it to be.
get the iceman, its cheaper and will give you about the same, if not MORE HP then the aem.
cheaper doesnt mean, cheaper product. iceman doesnt pay as much for advertising like aem.
i bought mines for 150 shipped. brand new. at jcwhitney

I have an iceman on my car, and it is kinda nice that you can switch between the two setups. Infact, i should probably do that sometime since it's raining. Doesn't even take that long. I've driven my car with iceman, and my friends with AEM, and you can't feel any difference between them. It's just a matter of preference. If you like the fact that the iceman uses "Space Plastic" go with it. It is supposed to retain less heat, which is better. If you like the name brand, go with the AEM.
+16 WHP and +17 FT-LBS TORQUE at 4800 RPMs from a $50 cold air extension...now who wants to aregue that isnt a deal?
The intake tube is 38" long (from TB to filter - not including filter itself) and 3" in diameter using a generic $20 cone filter. The first part of the intak is a DC D.A.C. and the extension is made by Injen.
The runs were done back to back maybe 3-4 minutes apart, one with the extension on..the other with it off

Will i be able to add a Water Bypass Filter to the Iceman Intake? How much should it cost?
The reason why aem is hot after "running for a couple hours" is because metal conducts heat better than most plastics. Why you would touch anything that's visibly hot, I don't know
. AEM has zirconium (<<something like that) coating in the paint that reflects the heat away from the inside of that intake (the actual intake air). Well that's what they say anyways. The 94+ LS teg cai doesn't blot on exactly rite (anchor about 1/2" off), but it does the job w/o making a fuss. If you're afraid of denting your metal car, then you should go for some of saturn's "dent resistant" paneling as well (ooo, plastic doors). As to power gain, iceman's gain is much lower in the powerband, aem makes peak higher. On the same application, since the gain is higher in the powerband... the gain is numerically higher b/c flow is increased by percentage(dur dur??). That's why aem can advertise "more power than any other intake" or something. Imho, AEM is way too expensive for what it is, but I just don't trust anything made out of the same **** I put my trash in. btw, I DO care about denting my trashcan so I have a plastic one b/c I kick that **** to the curb every week... that's when I choose plastic, not for my car. But then again, if you throw trash in your hood, then might as well get plastic
