Suspension for 2003 EP3
Im trying to decide which suspension to get for my car...I have looked at both the Tein Basic and Mugen SS..Im not looking for anything with too much adjustability but rather a simple system or somethin along the lines of the Mugen....Im in New Jersey and I do have problems with water...I have AEM V2 intake but I still get a snorkling sound when driving in the rain and I am unable to figure out whats happening (anyone who has an idea please help)..So I dont want to much of a drop...I have the Eibach Pro springs and there not really doing the job...Any recommendations for which suspension is best?? Thanks for the help.
great question for 1st post. check out ephatch.com, under suspension. lots of reviews.
i can name you a few vendors. truehonda.com is selling omni power coilover systems for $789 shipped. D2 coilovers go for $850 and up. progress for $1100. tein basics for at least $800. happy shopping. PM me if you need help.

Have a look in https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=48.
Robear Racing and Mkteller are both direct dealers of Omnipower, and it looks like Extreme Power Outers has joined that group. You'd probably get good service and a good price on the Omnipowers from any of those three.
Most manufacturers are still perfecting their EP3 coilovers in an effort to make it possible to reduce bump steer, lower the car and still get the toe settings correct.
I have a Mugen/Showa SS suspension on my EP3 right now. It's about worn out after about 22,000 miles if that helps you.
I am not sure you could expect more mileage out of an aftermarket suspension. However, at least one of the Omnipower distributors guarantees them for two years regardless of mileage.
On the floor here, I have a set of the new Omnipower design, but I won't be able to put them on the car until next week.
Something that impresses me about the new Omnipower design for the EP3 is how thick the damper shafts are. This is especially impressive to me because I actually bent a shaft on a front Mugen/Showa coilover after hitting a NoVA pothole.

22,000 Miles??!
I'm sure a lot of Mugsn SS owners won't like to hear this. Surely this can't be normal. I've run a lot more miles than that on KYB shocks on previous civics. Showa, being the OEM supplier for many Honda shocks surely can't put out that poor of a prodcuct. Can they? I'm looking for George to chime back in.
Thank you!

I dunno what to say. I think 20-25K miles is pretty normal for an aftermarket coilover.
Mugen also beat everybody to the punch by spending the money to develop a no-brains, decent quality and low priced (I've seen them under $1000 here and there) coilover for the EP3.
This McPherson stuff was all pretty new to us, you know, and we were grateful that Mugen took the interest.
I was disappointed to have ruined a coilover on a pothole up here, but it was an extraordinary occurrence and I think just about any shock would've blown or bent from the impact. It was severe enough that it bent a wheel slightly.
Do you really expect an under $1000 set of coilovers to last more than 25,000 miles?

I would just pray that whatever I got for $1000+ is rebuildable
Does Omni have any plans for a adjustable dampening, does anyone know?
I can relate to George on the potholes. I lived in NYC for 30 years and they have some doosies
You absolutely need a nice forged wheel if you intend to drive on NYC streets daily
Luckily, I have since moved to the nice flat state of Florida!

Well George, I'm not sure how to answer. Basically yes. That's what I expect from Mugen. Regardless of the price or part, they typically claim they are OEM Quality. That's what I expect and I have a feeling a lot of other RSX/EP3 owners expect. Mugen has sold so many of these pieces to daily driven cars. That's the other part, daily driven, there will be a lot of cars in a few years with blown suspension. That's unbelievable.
Back to my KYB AGX comment, I put well over 20K miles on those and I know they were not blown and did not cost anywhere near $1K. True, they are not McPherson, but still.
Guess I just expect too much. I try to ONLY use OEM parts from other Honda vehicles OR top notch aftermarket pieces to have a car that functions properly for a long period of time.
I'm dissapointed.

Sorry. Didn't mean to burst your bubble.

Found the link for the cheap tein basic prices. Here it is:
http://store.rms-usa.com/cisi02basuki.html
I'm on the fence between these and the omnipower kit, but I like the idea of the thicker damper shafts on the omnis.
