Default powered bazooka tube?

I want to install a sub in my '96 accord, but I still need to use the trunk alot, and I was wondering if anyone has used a bazooka tube instead of a sub/box/amp combo. I went to the local stereo shop, and they seem to like them & they sure are easy to get in and out of the trunk, but anyone know about the sound quality? It would be either the 8" or the 10" powered sub. Thank for any help.

I had an 8 inch bazooka with built in amp back when i had my truck. It was a reg cab ranger and i had it behind the seats. It sounded awesome . I got nothing but compliments. Had it for 4 years and the quality never dimineished. The sound of a tube though, even if you go to a 10, might be a muffled in a closed truck of a sedan. Unless you happen to have an accord wagon i say go for it, otherwise you might be dissapointed later. Hope this helps.

HINT don't mount it right away, spend a day or two moveing the tube around trunk, they sound the best "loaded" into a corner, [ I use 2 long 10 lb sandbags to hold it in place] you will find a place where it sounds the best to YOU, when you find that spot,[and its not in the way] strap it down, there is no real wrong way to place it, but there 100s of right ways. 94

Most people just throw it in. Like fcm said, experiment with positioning.

Sweet, thanks for the help, and taking the extra time to position it, great idea. I wouldn't have thought of that, Thanks.
