Hi,, I'm new ,, but have a problem /question . I had tires put on at SEARS AUTOMOTIVE on my 5 spoke 17 inch wheels and they chipped the paint around the edge by the tire bead......and then DENIED it .The wheels are the 5 spoke like gunmetal color and made by Enkei .. where could I find touch up paint ,,, or any suggestions ,,, thanks Bob

 

Do you have before/after pics? If you don't you're screwed .

 

If I had before and after pics,, I'd be waiting on new wheels ,, instead of looking for touch up paint

 

Even if you don't, you can try complaining to management. Keep on going up the ladder and constantly whine that they give horrible service and they ripped you off by damaging your rims, and somewhere they'll reimburse you. This only works with national chain type places though.

 

Contact coorpporate.. You can also send them to a little shop here in maryland that can fix any wheel. One of my friends crashed her celi and cracked and broke he 18" and they fixed it and you can't tell.. It is called ye old wheel house.. PM me and I can give you their info.. I would post it but I don't have it right now...

 

contact the corp office. file a report with them as most of their shops do this delib. just to get you to come buy from them or make you come back. That will put your rims out of bal. then tires go faster, maybe want a shop you can trust to look over the car and look for other damage.

I grew up around there and I know all the LOUSY shops around there.

The one was mentioned, the Ye Ole Wheel House that repairs them A+
they can do just about anything, but it does cost. They even make custom rims there. Very nice place.

They may cost but the poeple that I know that have had work done all had discontinued rims so it was cheaper than replacing the set..

 

Understood, but this person has the 5 spoke gun mettal painted rims. you can still get those and it might be cheaper for them just to either body/wheel shop paint them (if all it is was paint removed) or just replace (if the rim was made out of round or warped).

Otherwards I would say that the Wheel shop would be the best next bet, as it all depends on what they want to spend and all.

And they should stay on SEAR's **** to get paid for it too.

After I got home friday (day it happened) I called Sears customer service to make a complaint ,, they did a 3 way call with local store manager and they repeated they where not buying me rims,, so I said I'm not done move this up higher I'M NOT SATISFIED ,, that was Friday ,, Sat. I get a call from store manager telling me area rep. wants to look at my rims,, so I'll keep it posted on here ,, but still looking for touch up paint just in case ...........thanks

 

The best way is to kill them with kindness.. Be sturn but not rude. I work for a fortune 500 company and it works. Best of luck and keep us all posted..

 

And now heres the latest,, supposed to meet with area auto manager on Friday at noon,, got there and store auto manager met with me instead ........and said "we'll buy you new ones this isn't life or death ....just a couple of rims " he was definately a lot more helpful than the WOMAN store manager a week earlier by the way after hearing my story he didn't even come out to the car and inspect the wheels
