DC2 vs DC5
I was at my acura dealer the yesterday having my car serviced (30k mile routine checkup). On their front line i saw the new 2005 rsx type s. I was wondering if anyone has ever driven one. Reason im asking is that i might be trading in the R for one. Not 100% sure yet but the idea is in my mind. Any comments are appreciated.
i have driven the type s , a few of my friends have them , all mostly stock , and i have a 00 type r , i am aware that the k series takes better to bolt ons , but i will always be a b series man , its all personal preference , but if i were you i wouldnt trade my type r for anything , mabye jap spec nsx type r , but thats it , anyways good luck with whatever you choose to do
Like the previous guy said, K series gets better results from bolt-ons. The handling is so much different though, you're going to have to weigh out which one you like better than the other. DC2 looks and handles better, overall I would never trade an R for an RSX-S, but its all your choice.
The rsx-s looks pretty nice imo, which car is faster? im most concerned with teh handling. R's handle extremely well stock as most of you may know... does the rsx-s even match the r at all? Thanks for the posts guys.

I test drove a 2001 JDM Spec Integra Type R and man I'm kinda jeolous. They move quick as **** over here in japan and on the high way they are hellz hard to keep up with. But so much is diffrent on the newer type r's than the old. But hope you atleast test drive one to get a new experience.
go testdrive one.. it all depends on what you want to do with the car.. i woudln't choose rsx over itr, even if mine was stock.. i like older hondas and just 90' cars in general.. all depends on what you like.

The 2005 DC5 Type S for USDM is a changed animal.
It has the DC5 ITR final drive, a different computer, revised head, different cams, and revised suspension.
Quoting the specifications doesn't do the car justice...it's a delight on the road and the way it performs belies what on paper appears to be a minor 10 HP increase.
You also have to hand it to Honda for listening to the track crowd and making so many little revisions to the suspension, revisions designed to make it handle better on the track and handle road vagaries better than you'd think a McPherson front driver would be able.
Would I trade in my ITR for one? No. The ITR still has a lot of life in it, and it has not seen the end of its development (for me) as a track car.
Although I've driven a 2005 DC5 ITR, I have not driven one on the track. I have driven a very well modified EP3 on the track, though, and I still prefer the DC2 ITR suspension to the McPherson suspension.
If my ITR were only a daily commuter, I'd be sorely tempted by the 2005 DC5 Type S.
The revised K20Z1 in the USDM Type S, coupled with the other changes, makes it a very nice car to drive around.
