i fuggin blew my b18c1 tranny at the track, I was pullin a good run then missed 5th twice, it wouldnt go in 5th fuggin twice. then , as i made the U-turn to head back in, the fuggin shifter was LOCKED UP. It wouldn't move hardly at all. It would only go into 5th now. So long story short, i had to drive the car home on the turnpike for 2 hours with ONLY 5th GEAR, you talk about starting off slow, DAMN, try starting out from a STOP in 5th and see how fugged up that is. Well , go the car home , now need a fuggin tranny, ANY suggestions !!!!
what tranny should i go with now, and also, how much do they run, USED ONLY, don't have $$$$ for new.
also, is it a good idea to swap the tranny myself, any PRO'S or CONS ??



btw, i still pulled down a 13.0 @ 106

 

replacing the trans yourself isnt that hard ive done it several times. Id go with an itr trans for the shorter gears and lsd.

 

How many times have you missed fifth? I think I remember you saying that like a total of 4 times on this forum now. lol


Id actually do some calculations with tire size and gearing so that you end up hitting the traps at the top of fourth gear, **** wasting you time with an overdrive gear, save that for the gas mileage

I dont think ITR tranny would be the best idea...THe only advantage would be the LSD.

 

It wont switch gears with car ON or off, the shifter is basically lodged or stuck and will only move slightly forward into 5th, and only 5th.
there was no sounds of grinding , etc, it just stone cold LOCKED UP !!!

im thinking now its the fork or shifter
also, i always had a problem awhile back with 2nd gear while downshifting, it seemed like it wouldnt go in alot of the time while downshifting.
