Default Apex'i N1 Type Pro Dampers

I am looking in to getting a set of these coilovers used off of someone on here.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1017480

I am looking for anyone with experience with this setup and any comments that they may have. How did you like them street/track? How do they compare to other high end coilovers (zeal, buddy club, JIC)? and how much would you pay for a similar setup?

I have them in my car right now. SOme people dont like them, but I love them. I would offer you my set to you but you have an EK.

it is really stiff.. but man.. it will hold corners like champ!..

my comparison was with TEIN HA's that I used to have on my civic.

I've actually been wanting to pick up a set of these and try them out. They seem pretty good on paper, they have a nice big 52mm piston which should make it pretty well dampened (depending on the quality of the valving).

I spoke with Apex'i about high high of a spring rate one could run on the dampers right out of the box and the tech told me the fronts could go as high as 22K, the rears 20k. If you do decide on picking these up, I would opt for some custom rated Eibach's for them via our very own vtecvoodoo.

PM Black R. He owns a set. I was talking to him about it the other day.

He seems to like them and just recently upped the springrates on his.

If you can talk him down to $900 shipped, that'd be an excellent deal.

I have the 99-spec N1 dampers and love them... BUT only if you upgrade the rear springs. The rear springs they come with are WAAAAY too soft versus the rates on the front.

I currently have 11k front and 16k rear on my hatch.

I'd suggest you try the 16k in the rear with 11k -12k in the front and see how you like it. Or if it's too stiff, then try the 8k in the front with 12k in the rear.

Personally, I'm thinking of going with 16k in the front and 24k in the rear b/c I hate my kidneys.....

I believe that Apex'i can service them right here in the US of A. I think they are based in Torrance so it's somewhat local.

Black R - Don't you think 24k is a little over kill? I have a feeling you'll be sliding all over the place.

Affirmative to all of the above.

Jon, here's a link to my other thread:

If you do a search in the archives, I've posted quite a bit on these dampers.....
