Thicker does not always mean better. I've seen cars come into the shop with lots of misfires, and the 11mm wires have spark going right through them.
Honda stock ignition systems are excellent, and replacing them with aftermarked parts often has either no effect, or an adverse effect. You need to consider why you are replacing these components. In the combustion chamber, 1 of 2 things can happen: either there is an ignition event or there is not. If there is a spark that ignites the air-fuel mixture, then the ignition system's job is done. The only time the ignition system hasn't done it's job is when there is a misfire; the air-fuel mixture does not fire. Replacing the stock parts with aftermarket parts when the stock parts are doing 100% of what is required is unneccisary. There is no more power to be made there. Unless you have an indication that you are losing power through a misfire, there is nothing else to be done.
The MSD igntion is fine, but you need to know why you are adding it. In all likelyhood, the only real reason would be to add spark retard on boost, or a soft rev limiter or launch control. As I said before, there's not a lot of power to be made over the stock stuff.
If I have overlooked anything, someone please clue me in.

No, larger does not mean worse. But it's quality, not quantity. I've solved misfires when spark has been shooting through 11mm of yellow plug wire with a humble stock honda wire. People love to hear that their huge wires are the cause.
stock wires are only 7mm msd has 8.5 i dotn cafre about 11mm wires. MSD is a tried and tested setup its been through the paces tat who i trust i have beldin wires on my lsvtc right know(NAPA brand) and the work great.
