Default car was put in 2nd gear on highway and wont come out of limp mode

92 civic w/95 b18c1 swap

I'm working on a customers car and the dumb *** was trying to race somebody on the highway and went to put it in 4th but missed and went into 2nd instead. the car runs perfect up to 3000 rpm and then it stops and sounds exactly like a rev limiter at 3000 rpm. the cam timing is perfect, the ignition timing is good, and its all mechanicly sound. I took the obd 1 p72 out and replaced it with a obd 1 p28 and it still does the same thing. it is also throwing a code 4 wich I was told was the map ,so I replaced it and it does the same ****

any help would be great thanks
