Default HELP-GSR Cam seal

Ok,i've tried to search but came up with nothing...Im replacing my Cam Seal(Distributor side)and i just picked up a oem replacement,my question is...Why does the OEM replacement look so much different from say the STR cam seals, the OEM one is like a metal ring, and the STR is solid in the middle...can someone please tell me the difference, some pictures would help too...

maybe you are thinking of the cam plug...that is solid in the middle like the STR one you are thinking of...the seal is the ring that you got from the dealer....(or at least that's what it sounds like)

yeah, sounds like they gave you the cam seal for the timing side, not the distributor side.

common mistake.

When people say cam seal, dealership thinks just that, the seal that attachs to the cam
