A friend of mine has a 91 accord dx the car will only go into gear when it is off the clutch petal is about 2 to 3 inches from the floor so thats how much play it has. Has anyone ever had this problem?Thanks for your help

 

check the master and slave cyl for leaks.
bleed the clutch line.

 

you can also try to sdjust the rod under the pedal that goes to the CM cylinder. is it grinding?? if so could be throw out bearing.

 

It was the slave and the master,And when we took the clutch out it was'nt in to good of shape either thanks for all your help
