Default noise after oil change

just did my oil change, put the filter on til it stopped turning and then went another 2/3 turn, oil pan bolt torqued to 33 lbs and new crush washer, oil level fine, now when i first start the car, it makes kind of a metal on metal sound for the first 20 seconds, also, vtec kicks in at different rpms and doesnt always come on like it used to at 5500 rpm(on stock tach), no cels and no oil light, could this be caused by the filter being on too tight??? too loose??? something else??? it happend right after the oil change so im thinking its something with that and not the solenoid or screen or anything

thanks

the filter being on too tight or loose would not cause these problems. perhaps you didn't put enough oil in by mistake?

Your description suggests oil pressure is rising very slowly. Is the oil light on during this 20 secs? If yes, I would replace the oil filter. A blocked or damaged oil filter might cause oil pressure to be very slow to rise to acceptable levels and reduce peak pressure.

good luck

if you replace oil filter - tighten it by hand only - be sure to lubricate the rubber gasket on the oil filter with clean oil before installing. just hand tight it...
