Default Driving with out a hood

im planning on buying a cf hood and i want to keep my OEM. So i plan to drive with out my hood and just put the cf hood on when i get to the destination. Is it safe to drive with out a hood and is it legal? thanks

do you mean driving to pick up your hood and have it installed, so you don't have to figure out a way to get the OEM one home? as long as it's not raining or extremely dusty (like driving behind another car on a dirt road) i don't see a problem with it. even if you get pulled over for not having a hood (which i doubt would happen), just tell the cop you're on your way to have a new hood installed.

Some jackass back in town used to drive his del sol without a hood. Don't ask me why. I guess he wanted to show off his "sweet ride". I don't see why you would get pulled over though.

In Missouri it is illegal to drive without a hood. I believe it has to do with being a fire hazard though I don't necessarily agree with it, a lot of hoods don't have that fire retardant material on them anyway.

Do it on a dry sunny day! I don't know if it's legal in your state.

What if someone flicks a cigretter outside on the road, or road debris flies into the engine bay? I'd be careful an avoid cars.

Yeah, just be alert for dirt and things like that. I drove without my hood sometimes. Whenever I work on my motor, I would always take the hood off for better accessiblity, and after I install or fix the part, I would take the car out for a spin to test if it is working properly before I put the hood back on. Kinda weird now that I think about it...

haha mad ram air y0!!! i see alot of ghetto cars around my city rockin it hoodless, id be careful not going over 60mph or so, because those plastic caps over the fliuds arent made to stay on and withstand direct 100mph winds. you COULD ducttape a plastic sheet over your hood if your hella cautious, but i would make sure that beast is heat retardent.

got a friend with a pickup truck?

if not, you can always just strap it to the top of the car, if you angle it just right, you might actually lift off
