Default brain teaser for swappers

Ok 3 price ranges... you tell me what is the best/ most powerful swap for the price range is?
These are for 2nd gen CRX
1000-1700$ (i'm thinking b16a)
1700-2500$ (b16a1/b17)
2500-3500+$ (b18c/b18c4)?
Not only is it a beautiful brain teaser but it will help my budget make the best decision.. heh heh!

whats a b18c4? typo i hope. of course the b18c5/b18c R is best. but some are happy with a sohc, some zc, some b-series,...it depends what you want out of a motor.

If I we don't **** with each other we won't learn a damn thing now will we?
Besides, this swap is going to make an excellent father son project and give me an excuse to take a vacation.. See I kill several birds with several thousand dollars and I'll drink to that!

I'd say give up the 3500+ and do a b16...then you don't skimp on the extras..and you're guaranteed a better finished project...your projected numbers are low.

Once you start you will have a money pit on your hands...but it is so much fun! My Father always hated my imports, until he started hearing stories about my car, then I let him keep it for a week when I went out west to see a friend...now he is adement(sp) that I keep pushing it further on the ef, this is a guy that raced a worked hemi cuda for titles back in the day...and he's loving my car now! So do it! But be warned you might turn your kid into a money-blowing car-crazed loon!

1000-1700: I dont know if you can get a B16 in there unless you cut corners. I'd say ZC or sohc vtec maybe you could build it a bit.
1700-2500: B16A
2500-3500+: B18C unless money isnt an object/ you want to prove something then it would be the B18C5.

What happened to the B20B,Z did you not want that motor? If not I would go w/the GSR or Type R motor. http://www.intercrewautosalon.com
