ok i just put a b16a in my 92 hacth. before that i had a 94 gsr. my problem
is i keep throwing a code. code 22 vtec pressure valve. wires ok connectons ok.
please help. also when motor was shiped i noticed that oil pan was dented a little
could this casue it or is it something else.

 

i take it you have a helms, it has a step by step guide for this. Anyway you can check oil presure ?

 

i had the same problem i put the b16a into my 95 hatch and i was throwing the same code. what ecu are u running?? i was running a p28 chipped for an sohc si and my check engine light was on and i had no vtec. switched to the stock p28 and the check engine light was turned off and my vtec engaged. then i put in a chipped p28 for the b16a and it was perfect.

 

USDM vtec solenoid valves have to sensors, while the JDM vtec solenoid valves only have one. If you running a USDM ECU and a JDM vtec solenoid valve you will throw a code.

 

i bought the motor from h motors online jdm b16 a 92-95.
im useing the harness from my 94 obd1 gsr motor and the p28 mugen chiped ecu.
now the ecu was remaped to a p28. but i tried my friends p72 computer and still
have the same problem. oh and i swaped vtec sylonoids with my gsr motor because i thought that was the prblem before my check engine light came on.

 

Try switching the plug from the pressure switch with the plug from the water temp. sensor. I know I had them switch around when I swapped in my B16A, but i'm not sure what code I was throwing.
