the cylinder will have to be re-honed, but re-sleeved and honed if you are going larger than stock bore size

ya but do my sleeves contain FRM. I believe it stands for fiber reinforced metal/material. its the way the stock sleeves are constructed. h22 have it in the sleeves but i was wandering if the f series have it also...

If anyone has a Helm's book, it will tell you what the sleeves are in there...

Well, I remember the 92-96 honda prelude (S model) had a F22A1 motor, and I have a prelude Helm's.. So I looked it up, and said NOTHING of having FRM sleeves, but it clearly says the H motors do have them, so I would think the F motors don't.. HTH

You do have to resleeve the h22a for aftermarket pistons. If you don't, gaulling occurs due to the FRM cyclinders. On the f22a/b The cylinders are not FRM, so resleeving is not neccessary. Yor best bet is to contact a Piston Manufacturer like JE, Ross, or Weisco. they can tell you the specifics. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the welcome. I don't really claim to know much, but I have built several F series motors and I have built a couple of h series. I also built my 2.6ltr.

Wow your car is insane. 2.6 liters of DOHC VTEC power? What rods did you use? I don't see rods in your extensive list of mods. What are you getting on the dyno?

Believe it or not I am actually using stock rods right now for N/A. I will be changing them out to eagle rods as soon as the car gets nitrous. 150+ shot Last dyno was on a different motor built by (R&D Dyno services :stay away: more on that later.) It was slightly bigger in displacement, but had less compression than I am running now. It laid down 208hp /177tq this was also untunned N/A. My new motor is not an R&D motor and I am expecting to get 230-240 whp/200 lbs/tq as soon as it is tuned. If you are curious about my bad experience with R&D, check out our message board at http://www.collectiveracing.net under product and service reviews. You must register to read it however.
