Default lil oil question

i have a swapped sedan that a drunk bitch crashed into and it has a good d15b in it except for one minor problem. There is an oil leak and it appears to be comming from the rear main seal but the car is also burning oil...Does anybody know if having a bad rear main seal will cause the car to burn oil as well as leak it? And if not what do you think the cause might be? Any input or feedback would be great, I have searched and all i found was how to replace the rear main seal (which was helpful) but i need to know if it would potentially be something else. The motor also had a IACV code too... Thanks in advance HT..

what a ******

jon try to source where the oil/blue smoke is coming from. if the blue smoke is coming out the exhaust its probably the piston rings in which case i would run a compression test to confirm it. if its coming off the actual block then i guess you've solved your problem

ha, glad you care.

but back to my original response. I know that jon is thinking of doing a turbo set up on the d15, and he was going to rebuild the motor for that. if he plans to tear down the motor, he can find out what is leaking.

just rebuild it and find out.

compression/leakdown tests are always a good start.

and a leaky rear main will not cause a car to "burn oil" (oil out the exhaust), only leak it.
