DETONATION? Whats it sound like

Default DETONATION? Whats it sound like

I'm driving my R down the street gettin up to about 5000rpm and I hear like a pop type sound and feel like I lost speed. Scared the **** outta me I don't know what it is any ideas? Whats detonation sound like. I don't wanna fry my motor. Please help guys. Thanks.

Detonation sounds like a high pitch clapping noise.
It's not one loud bang, unless you blow the motor because of it.

that's severe detonation. Light detonation sounds like someone flicking an empty pop can with thier finger.

I drove home and checked the engine everything seemed ok. It was not really a clicking or clap sound so I'll just make sure to check it out, I have a VAFC so I will take it to the Dyno and make sure everything is running ok. I am running 94 octane. Thanks for the help, it just bugged me out.
