Best way to remove pistons?
Should I pull them from the bottum with the crank? or take off the head and pull them out leaving the crank in the block? Also any recomendations for rods and pistons? I was thinking forged eagle rods and JE pistons. I would like to up the compression b/c I want an N/A motor. Any recomendations in the direction I should go? Also anyone know of any websites with good prices on a set of rods and pistons?
thanks

they will have to go back in from the top, so you might as well pull the head. If you do the main bearings then the crank will have to come out anyway. As far as what pistons and rods, I'm no techie, just a grease monkey.
yeah you gots to pull the head. then before you pull the pistons out get a ridge remover cutting tool (or whatever it is called) and remover the ridge because if you just pull the piston the rings will prolly get caught on the ridge and break the ring lands.
Also if you motor is not super high milage you could prolly throw it back together with stock bearings (maybe replace them) check the clearances though.
What motor is it anyways?
