Default Trunk Leak

Hey guys, do any of you have leaks in your trunk??? I remember people talking about it a LONG time ago here, but I can't seem to find the post on it. I have had a leak since I bought my car, and I just recently found that it was the tail-lights. I tried using some sealant stuff on the gaskets, but it hasn't seemed to fully stop it. Does anyone think that just new gaskets would fix it?? If so, how much will they be?? I'm tired of getting everything in my trunk wet. Peace out.

Just replace the tail light seals, that should be the problem, considering you still have factory tails and not those ugly altezza's. If you get them from http://www.ahmotor.com/ I believe they are $20 each.

i do notice some moisture in the tail lights only after a few constant days of rain so im not too worried about that. but my trunk squeeks like crazy. anyone know how to stop this. it seems like it happens mostly when it gets wet

If your hatch squeaks, just wrap some electrical tape around the little loop that locks into the latch. Does that make sense? Its the part of the latch attached to the hatch. I replaced my taillight seals recently, but it ended up being these tubes that carry water from the sunroof to the rear of the car. If these are clogged up, theyll leak into the rear hatch area.

Yeah I just replaced my taillight gaskets on my 4 door, 4 seals @ $20 each hurt a bit, but now it is dry as a bone!

i had the identical leak. i used 3m seal gunk. it was 10$ for the box and i have tons left over. plus when you put the lights back on make sure you use the correct tighting order. if you dont you could warp the plastic and cause a leak that way too. good luck all.
