Default Steering....

Does anyone know if its possible and how to reduce the lock to lock in a 89 civic dx?...

basically ive got the car as a road track car.. everything is beautiful for the track except for when I go to solo 1 or slower courses with sharper turns... I would like to make the steering wheel turn less for the same feedback (dont tell me put on a larger steering wheel)... anyone have ideas?... is there a conversion for rack and pinion for an 89 civic dx with a b18b in it?

also does anyone kno how to remove the powersteering from the car?

There are a couple posts on how to do this if you search, its basically removing everything and plugging some lines. Not too hard.

Remove all power steering components (i.e. pump, lines) and change the steering rack to one out of non-power steering aquipped car.

There's a post somewhere for an aftermarket rack with tighter steering. Do a search.

Quaife have some fast ratio steering rack parts for both EFs and EGs. For the EF, its 3.25 turns lock to lock, down from 3.88, and for the EG its 2.8, down from 3.88 (I believe). These will only fit rack housings from manual steering racks.

No info on their site yet. You can buy directly from Quaife, or any Quaife dealer.

What about steering quickener? That's what they use a lot of in race cars..

Just a thought... don't really know if they have them for our cars.
