Sluggishness...bad gas milage...bad idle = TPS??
Long story short - JDM D15B swap into a 1992 EG
Very poor idle
very sluggish
totally bad gas milage
black deposit on spark plugs
I am thinking that it is the TPS - can anyone else concur with these symptoms?
I had the TPS replaced not too long ago - but when they replaced it it probably was not set properly to the correct voltage - does this sound like it is TPS that is causing these issues?
thanks!

Indeed.
Check base timing
Could be your TPS or a very lazy 02 sensor.

It could also be the O2 sensor like James Bond stated. I know mine is taking a crap on me because I'm only getting 200-230 miles per 8-9 gallon fill up. Where I used to get minimum of 300 when I first got her.
Rule out everything though before you buy something.

Thats the funny thing - I am not getting any CEL codes...
It could possibly be a timing issue - I dint think that though because it has the same symptoms of the TPS?

Check that your timing is up to spec. Check that nothing was advanced or retarded by the timing belt skipping a tooth.
Sometimes you don't need a CEL code. If the O2 sensor is taking a crap, it might not even show a CEL until it's really gone.

yeah - thats true - it is one of those 1-wire JDM O/2 sensors too which may have got damaged by its transport over on the boat...
I plugged back in my P06 (non-VTEC) ecu and it seemed to run a lot better although the CEL was on because the P06 is a 4-wire ECU and I have the 1-wire currently. I dont know why the changing ECU's (from P08 to P06) would cause it to run better and be less sluggish...??

dont forget about Fuel and Ignition... so.. Fuel Filter... Plugs, Wires, cap and rotor basic tune up stuff.. and feel free to run a **** load of Stabil through the gas... and try using Seafoam too...
Well, it appears that a lot of the problem had to do with the TPS. It measured .65 on the mulitmeter http://www.radioshack.com/prod...2D810 - $20 at Radio Shack - battery not included
So I turned it and got it back down to .45 - .47 (fluctuated a little) so I am thinking of checking the timing/plugs/cap and rotor ext.. hopefully I can get it running to the way I want..
