Default no trans mount, safe to drive to work?

alright, while moulding my body kit today i was doing my usual under the hood inspection and i noticed the screw in my trans mount was like half out. and i reached and just pulled it right out. so its completely unattached to the trans. i'm speaking of the one to the front of the motor all the way on the bottom near the radiator. i have no idea how safe this is to drive, i need to work tomorrow and i was meaning to bring my car in for an underneath-the-car check (too low, my jack wont fit) and i'll probably do that sometime this week. so please, what should i do

Its very dangerous but can be done...
When u shift gears ,,ride the clutch so the motor doesnt jump..

But it would be better to tow it..

I wouldn't ride the clutch...you'll then have to replace your clutch when it burns out. Just be easy on the car and don't race, shift hard or take it to high revs. When the previous owner had the engine replaced the shop failed to rebolt the front lower transmission mount..the one you're talking about. They also were too lazy to reconnect the speedometer cable. Anyway, Because the front trans mount was never installed, the passenger side mount is cracked to all hell and the rest....well...I don't even want to know. So now I have to get new mounts all around except the front trans mount...got one from a honda tech member.

I just went through this two weeks ago. First the front tranny mount broke and I didnt know it until my side tranny mount unbolted completely while driving. I was driving VERY VERY hard that day and it held up for a long time. When this happend I bolted the side mount back up just to get it home. I put about 50 miles on my car before I got the front mount fixed. I drove VERY easy. I would go from first to 2nd to 5th and just cruise.

I dont reccomend it because if your side mount lets go your tranny drops to the ground and if your driving rather hard you have the chance of wrecking. Just drive it real easy and itll be fine for a few miles. Check your other mounts and replace them if they are bad or youll continue to have problems.

As long as your other mounts are holding the transmission in place, there shouldn't any large danger. I ran around without the front transmission mount for some 6-7 months.

However, I noticed the transmission and engine tend to move around a lot during turns, braking and hard acceleration and can effect your expectation of the car. Also, without the front mount I feel that you'll wear down your other mounts eventually.

Go easy on the car, and you'll be okay. BUT make sure you install that mount as soon as you can.

I'll vouch for this also, been about two months since my A6 swap and my old tranny mount was gone. Now my poor clutch is gone and I'm waiting for my JimFab mounts to come in Finally, four contact points!

You have 3 mounts, your car and motor and trans will be fine. I race a crx with only three mounts and it has been fine for 2 years.

I don't even have the abilty to put one on because it does not come with one.
