how do you go about taking these ****** off? do you gotta take of the bumper?

 

You open the access panels in the rear hatch area and remove the four 8mm bolts.

 

what about that little screw on the outside holding the little black plastic strip down?

 

pretty straight forward, there is like (4) 8 mm nuts holding it down, then unplug the harness.

not sure what youre talking about but just pop the trunk and fold over the carpet stuff a little and youll see what you need to unscrew. theres only like 3-4 for each light i think? i duno, i havent done it in awhile, but i do recall them being 8mm though. the plugs are easy to take off but im guessing you want to reuse the bulbs for replacing the tails, so just turn the whole light counterclockwise until it feels like you can pull it out. there should be little to no force to pull the lightbulb out if you did it right.
