Hi, just wanted to share some pictures. S2k install
hey guys, we just finished this project and would like to share with you guys. All critism (sp) is welcome.
here's another custom stealth box between the seats..only this time its a 10" JLw0 rather than a 8" diamond audio cm3.

We created an armrest to house a concept half-din dvd player here

Also seen here in front of the dvd player is the game port for a fully modded Xbox mounted in the spare tire well.

And here is the monitor

And finally, the amp rack with embedded cross overs and xbox

thanks guys. positive responses always make us proud.
Front components : Alpine Type S
Sadly this system weights quite a bit more than the previous S2K install that we did. The fiberglass amp rack+xbox+arm-rest/dvd added up to about maybe 80lbs? the actual sub box itself is super light, something like 15-20lbs w/ sub.
As for the 30 hp loss..i dont think the owner really cares haha. But i did take the car for a spin after the install was finish to check for inadequacies. Even with the system and two guys ( myself and the owner) the car still handled and accelerated pretty well.

Craftsmanship looks pretty good (except for the carpet job around the Xbox)
The crossovers on the amp trim panel was a nice idea, but those paticular pieces look too small and out of place IMO - I would have skipped that and gone for just the view of the amp.
The sub box is a sweet idea - I like that a lot
The screen looks REALLY out of place IMO - but I don't know where else you would have put one.
That said, I like it alot - it's not what I would have done, but what you did look very nice

yup. Thats all the customer could squeeze into his budget.
Thanks rcurley. I agree with you on a few points. And youre right, theres not really any other place to put the screen.

Yeah thats a pretty nice install you guys did there. I agree on the Front Componets.. I mean the Type R's are not that much more you could of came down on price on things to get those Type R's..
Why did you choose to do a JVC radio out of curiosity and does it have an AUX input.
But all in all it looks great and very impressive work and good job selling one of those Concept DVD players.. We have a couple here but there collecting dust here..
Nice Job..

thank you. We gave the type s to the customer at cost almost so the type R's would be a little bit of a stretch. As for the JVC h/u, the customer already had it so we decided to run with it. And it does indeed have an AUX in. We used an Alpine AI-net aux-in adapter and just set the H/U to "line in" to use it. Thats weird that the half din concpt player is sitting there. We sell out of them so fast that we just ordered about 20 of them for the sake of saving shipping time.

Well, he could have used the money he spent on an Xbox and screen and invested into some better speakers. i personally don't like screens in cars though. If you want to play games, play them on a big screen at home not a 7" screen in your car.
But very nice install though. Very clean

When did xbox come out with Gran Turismo?
You might want to photochop a Halo 2 screen shot or something in there.

I really like the setup. I would be so damn paranoid driving that car around Memphis, parking it anywhere for more than 30 minutes if I can't keep an eye on it! It must be nice to have such peace of mind! I'll never know! lol
