Default Questions about an engine rebuild...

Hi there
I am from Athens, Greece , I own an EG6 SiR

My current mods are
- JDM B16A 2nd gen motor (my old B16A2 that came from the factory was burning like 1litre of oil every 1000 km's)
- Custom P30 ECU ( I program it myself using a WbO2)
- HKS Super Mega Flow
- Custom made 55mm cat-back exaust
- H&R Springs
- Bilstein Yellow shocks
- BKR7E-N11 plugs

I am thinking of further upgrading my cars performance by raising compression to 10,8:1 to 11,0:1 and using stage 1 cams. Considering the fact that my current motor now burns 300 to 400 ml of oil every 1000km's (hard driving - when driving slow it wont burn any oil) , I am thinking of doing a rebuild because I think the bottom end will not be able to handle the raised comp from milling the head / thinner head gasket.

So I am asking for your help, a friend of mine is coming to LasVegas next month and I would like you to tell me if possible some addresses of shops that sell honda oem piston rings and cylinder-head gasket set, because they are very expensive here..I would care to buy the rod and mean bearings also but my engine is not blueprinted so i must get these from here

Thanks in advance

thanks!

I want also to decide which cams would be appropriate for my upcoming setup.
I know CTR PCT cams will work nice with a 10,8:1 compression ( JDM B16A 2nd gen has 10,4:1 so i could achieve 10,8:1 easy with 2layer gasket and mild milling the head)
but i was thinking of trying buddy club spec III cams as i've read that they work without having to go 12:1 or something or even skunk2 stage1
I want my car for everyday use as well occasionaly circuit racing so I dont want to go very high comp and wilder cams because reliability is my no1 target here..

I believe i can reach 160+ whp with stage 1 cams , 2,125 inch exaust , 10,8:1 comp and a custom ECU along with the HKS super mega flow.

Do you think it's not possible? Stock EK9 has 185 crank hp with more or less the same setup...

BTW i really hate this trial-user thing...

I have heard many stories about oval cylinders and such (as a matter of fact there is a topic now a guy asking about boring).
Most B16's that run in stock rev-limits and havent gone extreme hot or low engine oil usually tend to have very little oval that can be overlooked (as the service manual says).
The main reason I swapped my old motor with my current JDM was because I was afraid that by burning so much oil things would be nasty for the cylinders.
But when they guy that bought it opened it up he saw that only the piston rings were in shitty condition even the crank bearings were ok and the cylinders just needed a hone...
So here I am right now, in the same situation as before, I bought a better engine for like the amount needed for a rebuild without boring and I have to change rings in order to go higher compression than stock if i dont want my car being an oil burner as before..
I hope noone else does the same mistake...
I mean the car with the JDM motor has much more power than the old b16a2, but if I had rebuild that one , I would have the high comp right now and I would just plugin those cams in a almost good as new engine..

I would also like you guys to tell me what you think about this article:

http://mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

the guy there says :

On a Dyno:
Warm the engine up
completely !!

Then, using 4th gear:

Do Three 1/2 Throttle dyno runs from
40% - 60% of your engine's max rpm
Let it Cool Down For About 15 Minutes

Do Three 3/4 Throttle dyno runs from
40% - 80% of your engine's max rpm
Let it Cool Down For About 15 Minutes

Do Three Full Throttle dyno runs from
30% - 100% of your engine's max rpm
Let it Cool Down For About 15 Minutes

And change oil with filter after that..

has anyone tried this? he has many good reasons and explanation why someone should do this , even pictures of pistons from traditionally breaked-in motors and from motors with this way of break in and the results are very tempting...
