Ok someone locally is selling his jrsc for eg dseries,
now he says it has around 10k miles,
and that he had no problems with it.

from a search i've noted that i should check the pulley for play,
the blades for chips, and smooth rotation.

HOWEVER, he says it is already attached to the IM,
and he doesnt really want to pull it apart,

what can I look for with it all put together like that?

also he's worried about oil spilling out if it was removed,
is he mistaken or is that something to be worried about?

The blower itself should only be connected by 4 bolts. It shouldnt be that much work to remove. If he really wants to sell it, he should be willing to spent 5 minutes unbolting it. If not, I swould smell something fishy. Check for chips in the rotors, turn the pulley and listen for any contact. Also turn the blower upside down while spinning the pulley to listen for anything.

but yeah, if he insists upon not cracking it open i'll probly pass.
its a good deal but still alot of money.

 

No oil will spill out of the supercharger. The oil that lubricates it is self-contained. The only oil that might spill out is engine oil which could be the case if the engine that it was attached to had some PCV issues.

Yep, or you could run with no gasket, it isnt 100% necessary.

You definitely want to take the blower off the mani for inspection...no oil from the SC will come out as previously stated.
